Khaptad National Park
Khaptad National Park is located in the central hills of
far- west Nepal. With an area of 255 sq. km. it has a hilly
terrain and is an exciting area for the flora and fauna. It
is where you will find Rhesus and Langur monkey, Common
Leopard, Musk Deer, and Ghoral. Nestled in
the foothills of
the Himalayas amidst a stunning natural landscape. Khaptad
National Park has a rich selection of mammal and birdlife.
The park is named after a holy pond Khaptad and is the site
of an annual fair. Here lives Khaptad Baba, a very learned
hermit who is respected by many of the Nepalese people.
