Langtang National Park
Covering an area of 1710 sq. km. and located directly
north of the Kathmandu Valley the Langtang is one of the
most beautiful and easily accessible mountain National Parks
of Nepal. The high altitude Himalayan valley of Langtang,
the Langtang Lirung Peak and the famous pilgrimage of
Gosainkunda are located within the park. Animals most likely
to be seen include Himalayan Tahr, Assamese Macacue, Stone
Marten and Musk Deer. Rarities include Himalayan Black Bear,
Common Leopard and occasionally the Red Panda and Snow
Leopard. The park entrance at Dhunche is linked by road from
Trisuli 68km west of Kathmandu making this an easy journey.
This trek is most popular with birdwatchers and plant
lovers.
