Shey-Phoksundo National Park

Located in the remote Dolpa district west of Dhaulagiri Massive is Shey-Phoksundo National Park (3555 sq. km). Herds of Musk Deer and Blue Sheep can easily be sighted in this very remote mountain area. It is a habitat of Snow Leopard and sighting of Wild Yak and Tibetan Nayar are rare but possible. The amazing fjord type blue waters of Phoksundo Tal are surrounded by Himalayan flora which nurtures Himalayan Monarchs and pheasants.
